Aaron Dabney is a five-time NAFI Master Flight Instructor. He grew up around general aviation, going for his first airplane ride in the family J-3 Cub at three months old and soloing that same Cub in his late teens. Aaron became a full-time flight instructor in 2009 and has provided over 5,000 hours of dual instruction.
Aaron earned his B.A. and M.S.Ed. degrees at Baylor University, and went to work for his first flight school just after completing his graduate degree in 2009. That same year he joined the faculty of Baylor University as an adjunct lecturer in Aviation Sciences, and he continues to teach introductory and upper-level courses in that program. Since 2013, he has owned and operated Waco Flight Training in Waco, Texas. His focus is on training and mentoring new flight instructors and providing them the best possible start to their aviation careers.
An active NAFI volunteer, Aaron serves on the Board of Directors and coordinates the MentorLIVE program. His college sweetheart and wife of nearly twenty years, Alisa, is always by his side, and he claims his aviation career wouldn’t be possible without her steadfast support. In their free time, they love traveling together-including a yearly pilgrimage to AirVenture Oshkosh.
