The Joy of Teaching

These days it seems too many young flight instructors have focused on what they perceive as the prize: getting the magic number of hours so they can apply for a “real” job in aviation. This often leads them to be rushed in teaching their students, neglecting what is important, ranging from not teaching proper techniques to not adequately learning and meeting their students’ needs.

This presentation is geared to reminding everyone that there are reasons we are drawn to what can be a demanding profession. Instructors at all levels have to draw on their passion for flight and pass it on to the next generation. This session will also remind us all that it’s OK to enjoy the challenge of flying and that having fun and passing on that joy is not inconsistent with being professional. In fact we will discover that truth is quite the contrary!
